About this deal

Pros: Top-spec smart features for a more affordable price | regularly discounted | Travel case included | Wireless charging stand Let’s face it, most of us end up brushing our teeth in a daze. Whether you’re half asleep or half awake, the whole experience can be a little haphazard – even if we do our very best to hit the two-minute mark every time we daub away the toothpaste in a zombie-like pre-coffee haze. Number of cleaning modes: 7 - Daily Clean, Sensitive, Gum Care, Intense Clean, Super Sensitive, Tongue Clean, and Whiten

It's not quite as chic. However, if you want a brilliant toothbrush and aren't a frequent traveler, it's one of the best options around. The toothbrush uses sonic technology, although it pulses at a lower frequency than the more expensive models above (40,000 pulses per minute). However, my teeth were still left feeling squeaky clean, and I especially liked how the brush has a central silicone bristle to help with removing surface stains. The brush is powered by sonic pulse technology that cleans at a maximum of 11,000 pulsations per minute. The head is made of silicone and PBT polymer bristles, which are now super flexible, which gives it a very different feel to other toothbrushes. Unlike the others, you’re supposed to use it like a regular toothbrush, scrubbing up and down and in circles rather than holding it against the teeth. Brushing modes: The vast majority of toothbrushes have several cleaning modes depending on the type of brush you're after. For instance, some will have specific settings for sensitive teeth, gum cleaning, daily cleanse or a dedicated mode for cleaning your tongue. Pricier models will feature more modes and, while most are largely the same sort of thing with minute variations in speed, it might be that you need to look after delicate gums for the foreseeable future. The Panasonic Multishape isn’t just a perfect 10/10 product; it’s also without question the coolest men’s grooming product of the year. If you were to think of Philips’ Advanced Whitening Edition and DiamondClean as twins, the latter is the sightlier, sexier one. Well, as sexy as a toothbrush can get, which is very much up for debate. As its ever-so-slightly more streamlined design might suggest, the focus here is marginally more geared to a shiny Hollywood smile – that diamond sparkle. I expected a lot from this brand, which was founded by two cosmetic dentists, and the Spotlight Oral Care Sonic Toothbrush more than delivered.

With this in mind, we are certain we have found the best electric toothbrushes for you to invest in this 2023...

Why should you use an electric toothbrush?

With over five years’ experience in beauty and health journalism, Florence has written for ELLE, Women’s Fitness, Sister Magazine, National Geographic Traveller and many more, with a strong sustainability angle thread through much of her work. The Oral-B Genius X doesn't have the advanced frictionless magnetic motor of the iO Series 9, which means it's a little noisier. However, it's still an excellent electric toothbrush.

It's not so basic that it doesn't have a pressure sensor or a few cleaning modes –four to be exact– but it throws away the AI tech found in the likes of top Oral-B and Philips models in favour of a solid handle, an ergonomic, long-lasting design, and a marathon-length battery. It's not a true smart brush like the above Oral-B, as it has no sensor to detect mouth position, but it will flash if you put too much pressure on your gums and has both regular and sensitive modes. For thirty dollars, or the equivalent? It's excellent. Along with the electric toothbrush, this is my favorite feature of the Multishape. Too often, beard trimmers are not designed for guys with long beards. We’ve tested the best beard trimmers from Wahl, Panasonic, Philips-Norelco and others, and many popular trimmers feature attachments that only work with short facial hair.Oral B is the ultimate electric toothbrush brand many know, love, and can’t live without. There are a whole host of designs available to shop, from varied models to travel-friendly creations, duo sets, rose gold creations, and more. In our tests, it gave a good, thorough clean on the everyday setting, though it's pretty vigorous, so we'd recommend trying out the sensitive mode first to see how you find it; you might not need to try the more intense settings. The brush's well-designed charging case is another highlight worth mentioning and offers a choice of charging options to keep your brush powered up on the move.
