Polar Seal is a durable hydrophobic coating. However, it does not offer the same long-term protection as Ultra High Definition Wax or Extra Gloss Protection. Any increase from 50/50 doesn’t really have any noticeable effect and would just result in an unjustified increase in CPA. We recommend a pre-wash with Polar Blast to gently loosen dirt. If not, rinse first with water to loosen heavy contamination. Only a small amount of Polar Seal is required. Pour no more than 40ml (four capfuls) into your foam bottle and then add at least 200ml of water. This should be all the finished solution required to cover your vehicle. There is no benefit in using any more than 40ml as over application can compromise the finish. In summary the product has been developed to work neat through to 1part Polar Blast to 10 parts water. Following Autoglym's instructions to the letter will also give you 25 washes from this bottle, not a bad value for the price of the bottle. It's worth noting that in this price range there are several excellent five-litre snow foams for sale that'll do roughly the same job. Bilt Hamber Auto Foam is a good example of this. That's not to say that Polar Blast is bad value for money, it's just worth remembering that you can get more for your money.

We would only recommend its use in place of a shampoo if your paintwork has very light soiling. In these circumstances please ensure you rinse the vehicle first to remove any heavier contamination. I’ve used various products over the years. Mainstream products like Autoglym and Meguirs and some old hats like Turtle and many other less heard of brands. Most of the products have given a good finish with a modicum of effort. Some are frankly hopeless. The critical performance characteristic is how long the finish lasts. I’ll consider beading and gloss appearance over time as a benchmark. What makes up the Autoglym Polar system? Don’t forget to hose down your car for a final time when you’ve done all your soaping and rinsing, this will budge those last little bits of dirt and dust that gather in those hidden spots. Polar Wash can be used at various dilutions depending on the density of foam desired. However, we would not recommend using a dilution stronger than 50:50. Adjust foam gun settings as required to increase or reduce foam. 250ml of mixed solution should be enough to cover an average sized car.

Cleaning your car exterior

Polar Seal contains silicones, which in some cases, can create smears once wiper blades are used on the windscreen. We would recommend cleaning your windscreen after you have applied Polar Seal to the rest of your car as part of your car cleaning process.
