About this deal

The Tamiya Sand Scorcher from our great range of radio controlled buggies, was reintroduced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of the original Sand Scorcher with an improved re-release of the radio control car model. This is one of a great range of rc cars that are available both online and in store. The Tamiya Sand Scorcher is to be reintroduced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of the original Sand Scorcher with an improved re-release of the radio control car model. Ball diff. I understand this will help improve handling, but that about all I know. How on earth do you fit it and where can the parts be found? I'd really like to fit it, but I'm a little lost on this one at the moment so any insight here would be great.

Following on from the release of the 30th anniversary Rough Rider, Tamiya is now proud to announce the imminent re-release their classic Sand Scorcher. Tamiya is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Sand Scorcher with an improved re-release of the model. The new improvements include more fine tuned parts. Just as the original, the updated Sand Scorcher features ribbed front tires and paddle rear tires. Since the Sand Scorcher and the Buggy Champ use the same chassis, the spare parts are interchangeable. Type 540 Motor included (Compatible with kit-included motor or Item 53689 540J Motor only) ●No Differential GearsOriginally released in 1979, the R/C Sand Scorcher was greatly received from fans around the world with its humorous form and superb mechanism. Horizontal bar, that make sense too. Where do I get one from and is it a drop in fit or will a little modding be needed? The swing axle rear suspension has the unique ribbed rear tires which ensure dynamic driving on sandy surfaces. Unfortunately the front bumper broke - on inspection it was carrying a very old injury! So I made one out of aluminium. I'd also read that the chassis flex can stress the shell so I made a strengthening plate out of ally, and shaped it so it matches the sills on the shell. I'm really pleased with it Originally released in 1979, the R/C Sand Scorcher was greatly received from fans around the world with its humorous form and superb mechanism. Keeping true to the basic layout of the original while incorporating many refined parts, this re-released version of the Sand Scorcher will remind you of the original. This model realistically reproduces the unique form of the buggy which was seen at the one-make race at the “Baja 1000” in California, USA. The body is molded in white polystyrene and can be painted with Tamiya plastic model paints. The rear-wheel drive 2WD chassis features realistic and aggressive driving performance that will no doubt excite you.

Front suspension features die-cast suspension arms and double-trailing arm setup as well as grooved front tires. It's quite interesting comparing this rere shell with the original. The original does have a much nicer shape to the fenders I think. And I think i'll paint the wing mirrors, they look a bit too toy like in the all-over chrome.Length: 400mm, Width: 230mm, Height: 180mm ●Wheelbase: 250mm ●Tread: F170mm, R175mm ●Tire Width/Diameter: F21/73mm, R41/82mm The Tamiya Sand Scorcher is to be reintroduced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of the original Sand Scorcher with an improved re-release of the radio control car model.
